Albert Bernard Menke was born 30 December 1878 in Quincy Illinois. His parents were Bernard H. Menke and his wife, the former Marianne Elizabeth Holtkamp.

In 1917 he married Miss Bertha Zimmerman.

Albert B. Menke worked as a grocer. He ran his own grocery at 5th and Locust streets for 51 years. He belonged to St. John Catholic church.

Albert Bernard Menke passed away 15 December 1969 at a Quincy, Illinois hospital. His wife, Bertha Menke, predeceased him, 20 February 1941.

In addition, a sister Helen Menke, and brothers Frank Menke and Joseph Menke predeceased him.

Survivors included: a daughter, June, Mrs. Walter A. Terwelp; sisters Mrs. Margaret Collins and Miss Emma Menke; and two grandchildren.

St. John Catholic church was the site for funeral services. Reverend F. C. Schlepphorst presided. Interment took place at Calvary cemetery in Quincy, Illinois.
