Richard Medina was born April 22, 1922 in El Paso, Texas to Manuel J. and Petra (Roacho) Medina. He died Saturday May 27, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Richard proudly served his country in Europe as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded a Purple Heart and also was captured and taken as a Prisoner of War. Richard was a member of St. James Catholic Church, American Ex-Prisoners of War, Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed sports and reading history books. Richard and his wife Betty were very active in buying and selling Antiques for many years.

Richard was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Donald Medina and Patrick Dane Medina.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Betty Medina. Survivors include his son Paul and wife Grace Medina; Daughter-In-Law Kay Medina; grandchildren Emily Medina Keeton, Katie Whitson and Sarah Giese; great grandchildren Patrick Reier Medina, Lillian Whitson, Zoe Keeton and Aria Giese; Nieces and great nieces Debra Scott, Sheila Hankins and Stephanie Scott; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Tuesday, May 30th, 2017, 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Services are Wednesday, May 31st, 2017, 10:00am with Reverend Deacon Marti Gulikers officiating at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S. Western Avenue Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
