RACINE - Slavko Tomic, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at his home. Born in Bosnia on August 2, 1955, he was the son of Milan and Nada (Lakic) Tomic. He moved to Kenosha in 1979 and to Racine in 1980. Slavko was employed as a machinist for Z & Z Machine Products Inc. in Racine for many years. He enjoyed exercising, karate, and working in his garden. Surviving are his son, Milan Tomic of Racine; his mother, Nada Tomic of Bosnia; a brother, Zoran (Dragica) Tomic of Kenosha; a sister, Milena Mitrovic of Bosnia; two nephews, Dalibor and Sinisa; and three nieces, Daliborka (Milos), Marijana (David), and Olivera (Rastko). He was preceded in death by his father, Milan Tomic; and a sister, Milanka Petrovic. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a short prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10th, at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 32377 North Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, IL, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Sava Cemetery.
