KEARNEY — Jessica Dorn, 42, of Kearney died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with the Revs. Patti Byrne and Sandy Webster officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Kearney Cemetery. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She died at her home, surrounded by family.
Jessica was born Nov. 17, 1974, in Fremont to Richard and Linda (Thomsen) Parr.
She was a 1993 graduate of Fremont High School and later earned her degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Jessica was a longtime employee of Target. In 2005, she began working at Five Points Bank where she was in charge of new accounts. Jessica was united in marriage to Justin Dorn on Aug. 10, 2002, in Kearney.
Jessica loved all kinds of music, especially The Beatles. She enjoyed going out with her friends, watching HGTV and “Modern Family,” and a well-timed pun. Throughout her battle, Jessica remained positive and upbeat, never conceding to the disease.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Caleb and Callen Dorn of Kearney; mother, Linda Grohs of Omaha; brother, Adam Parr and wife Danielle of San Diego; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jessica was preceded in death by her husband, Justin Dorn; father, Richard Parr; and grandparents, Jens and Donna Thomsen and Sylvester and Gloria Parr.
