Crowell Resident Passed Away Friday
Mrs. Mary Jahnel of the Crowell Home passed away March 22 at the age of 96. She is survived by four sons, Mr. *Harvey Jahnel of Oakland, Mr. Walter Jahnel of Tekamah, Mr. Ray Jahnel and Mr. Robert Jahnel, both of Blair, one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Christiansen of Kennard, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of all funeral arrangements. No arrangements have been made at this time.

Mary Jahnel Buried March 25
Mary Jahnel a life-long resident of Washington County died last Friday, March 22 at the age of 96.
Mary Schmidt was born December 3, 1877 at Fort Calhoun to Peter and Christine Schmidt. On January 6, 1904, she was united in marriage to Fritz Jahnel. Since the death of her husband in 1967 Mrs. Jahnel has resided at the Crowell Home.
Survivors are four sons, Harry of Oakland, Walter of Tekamah, Ray and Robert both of Blair, and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Christiansen of Kennard, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son, Alfred died in infancy.
Services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Fort Calhoun Monday, March 25. Interment was in the Fort Calhoun cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Schmidt, Jack Rathjen, Tage Christensen, Ivan Andersen, Frank Henricksen and Kenneth Jahnel.
