Martha Martinez Rodriguez 69, went home to be with Our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 22, 2007 surrounded by her loving family leaving behind a legacy of love and service. She was born on February 4, 1938 in Mexico to Jose Angel and Esther Martinez.
She was a retired Supervisor of Haggar's Clothing Manufacturers and a former employee of Eliza's Beauty Shop dedicating 15 years of service greeting every client with her beautiful smile and building lasting friendships. Martha was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a longtime resident of Robstown, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She goes home to the Lord to reunite with her husband of 50 years, Apolonio "Paul" Rodriguez; a daughter, Laura Rodriguez and her parents, Jose Angel and Esther Martinez.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Jose Angel (Janette) Rodriguez of Robstown, Texas; Velma (Jesse) Perez, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Elizabeth "Lisa"
(Royce Dane) Vick of Austin, Texas; four sisters: Mary (Marcelino) Barrera and Estella (Raul) Cardenas both of Robstown, Texas, Armandina (Refugio) Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas and Rosario "Rosie" (Mike) Highfill of San Antonio. Texas; one brother, Ambrocio G. (Janie) Martinez of Carrizo Springs, Texas. She was blessed and adored by her seven grandchildren, one great-grandson and loved by her numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
A Rosary was held Feb. 23 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 24 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
