Virginia Ann Klumpp

Virginia Ann Klumpp of Keelona Farm, Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 8, 2008.

Virginia was born in Long Island, New York, on January 18, 1936.

She was a graduate of Penn State University 1957 and received her RN from Mary Mount College.

She is survived by her daughters and grand-children.

Virginia was an accomplished Horsewoman, Breeder and Master Gardner. This October, her horse, Velvet Affair, was the National East Coast Holsteiner Champion. Another National Champion, Legal Eagle, won the 2004 USDF National Materiale high score award. He also won The Dressage At Devon, Born in the USA Award. In the 1970's, Virginia won the champion-ship in the sidesaddle competition at the Washington International Horse Show. She rode the leading horse to win The Hunt Night team competition. Virginia finished as finalist in the Virginia Field Hunter Championships.

Virginia was a member of Alpha XI Delta, The Virginia Board of Nursing, The Farmington Hunt Club, The Oak Ridge Hunt Club and The American Holsteiner Association.

A memorial service to honor her will be held at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, 11 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008.
