Darlene Thomas Rogge, age 82 of Sand Springs, MT, left this world on September 5, 2017 at the Garfield County Health Center.

Darlene was born on June 5, 1935 to William and Letha (McMain) Thomas. She was the 10th born out of 11 children. Darlene attended school at Jordan where she graduated from Garfield County High School with the class of 1954. On June 25, 1954

Darlene married Edwin Rogge in Miles City, MT. To this union five children were born: Darla, Carla, Wes and last but not least the twins: Dean & Jean. Darlene spent her entire life living at the family ranch at Sand Springs. She was the typical ranch wife, doing whatever was needed as long as it didn’t concern cows.

She was known for her wonderful canned peaches and her pie baking abilities. Darlene was the kind of mother who gave you a hug in the morning and let you know you were loved by her. Her children knew that they could always count on her with her strong devotion to her goal of a tight knit family, one benefit of a stay at home mom. She was always humble, kind and encouraging to all and enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events and school plays. Darlene’s wonderful sense of humor will certainly be missed, especially on occasions such as April Fool’s Day

Darlene and her family felt so blessed to have the loving care she always received at the nursing home in Jordan. It cannot be explained in words how thankful we are for that. Those who cared for her in the nursing home always treated her with kindness, respect, and dignity above the call of duty. The family wants to thank those, from the deepest of our hearts, who cared for our Mom.

Darlene is survived by her husband Edwin of 63 years, daughter Darla (Doug) Stanton of Brusett; daughter Carla (Jim) McWilliams of Jordan; son Wes (Ronda) Rogge of Sand Springs; Dean (Tanna) Rogge of Sand Springs and daughter Jean (Greg) Severe of Melstone, MT. Darlene is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister in laws Ruby Thomas, Shirley Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Letha; brothers Carl Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Clayton Thomas, George Thomas, Mick Thomas and Earl “Punk” Thomas; her sisters Ines Rogge, Roberta Likes, Elsie Thomas and an infant baby brother.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan.

Interment will follow at the Wolf Cemetery.
