Robert E. Vietzke, of Othello, died Thursday, October 15, 1992 at the Othello Community Hospital. He was born January 17, 1914 in Colville.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel May. They were married on February 20, 1937 in Ellensburg. They had three children, Jerry, of Renton, Bob Jr., of Orcas Island, and Shirley Jean McCullough, of Othello. They moved to Othello in 1950

He was in the excavation business during the developmental years of the Columbia Basin. He worked on such projects as the Larson Air Force Base, Columbia Basin Irrigation Project and Othello Masser addition. He went to work for Pre-Mix in the mid 1960s until retirement in 1976. He was involved in the Othello Rodeo Association and the Moses Lake Elks Club.

Besides his wife and children, Bob is survived by three sisters, two brothers, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 1992 at 3 p.m. at the Pilgrim Lutheran, Othello. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Lutheran Church or The American Heart Association. Arrangements in care of Muscott-Stevens Funeral Chapel, Othello.
