The records of the Reformed Church at Jamaica make frequent mention of Cornelius Hoogland during the early years of the society. About the last appearance of his name is to designate him as church master in 1720. His widow [Catalina Remsen] survived him for more than ten years, being a witness to the baptism of her grandson [Cornelius b.1730 d.1755] at Jamaica in 1730.
Approximate year of death 1731, at the age of 75-76.
