Tina Koenig Avila, 60, of Bandera, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas Eve. She was born in Kerrville to Jack and Betty Carr Koenig on April 19, 1952. She married Jose Avila on Jan. 8, 1977 in Las Cruces, N.M.

She met everyone with a smile and loved people as well as animals. She loved to be at home and took care of her brother until his passing. She loved the song, "The Spirit in the Sky" and also had a love for Hank Williams, Jr.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jack Koenig Jr. and her son, George W. McBroom. Tina is survived by her husband Jose Avila of Bandera; her daughter Kara Jo McBroom of Bandera; and her nieces Jackie Koenig Maldonado of Boerne and Nicole Koenig Aguirre of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthur Nagel Clinic.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
