Marion Drunert Bothe, 91, of O’Fallon, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at the Garden View Care Center in O’Fallon, MO.
Marion Drunert Bothe was born December 30, 1925 in Warren County, MO to Milton F. Drunert and Ollie Keithley Drunert. She married Ralph Frederick Bothe on February 27, 1944 in Warrenton, MO and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1995. Marion was a Mother and Homemaker most of her life, raising her 4 children and working at the local Western Auto that she and Ralph owned. She was a member of the Montgomery Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and the Montgomery City Study Club. She enjoyed hosting lady’s Canasta card parties in the 50’s and belonged to a lady’s Bridge card group in the late 90’s. When she and Ralph moved to Montgomery City in 1950 they both became known for their beautiful singing voices, singing in the Methodist Church choir and at various local occasions. She enjoyed quilting, her flower gardening, large family gatherings, listening to close harmony vocals, big band music, singing with her family, and being with her Grandchildren. When Ralph retired they spent many years traveling the country in their 5th wheel camper and many winters in Arizona. Summers were spent in the Mineola area. Her family loved her greatly, and will miss her greatly.
Mrs. Bothe is survived by four children: Patricia Ann Overkamp of Mineola, MO; Daniel Frederick Bothe and wife, Sandra, of St. Charles, MO; Edward Charles Bothe and wife, Karli, of Jefferson City, MO; and Judith Bothe Fienup and husband, Spencer, of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Matt Overkamp and wife, Tammy; Diana Overkamp Weber and husband, Mark; Cristina Hall and husband, Chris; Laura Hooper and husband, Aaron; Madeline Anderson and husband, Chris; Cathy Fienup; Shay Smith and husband, Nate; and Breanna Cornwell and husband, Leslie; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Lix and husband, Paul, of Warrenton, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Bothe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Frederick Bothe; son-in-law, Bob Overkamp; one sister, Marjorie Simpson; and two brothers: Fred Drunert and Marvin Drunert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Ed Hankinson will officiate and interment will be in the Warrenton City Cemetery in Warrenton, MO. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers will be family.
