Additionally, she shared the screen with Spencer Tracy and Jean Harlow in "Riffraff" (1936) and Elizabeth Taylor in "National Velvet" (1944). She retired from acting and went on to serve as a nun. Later, she received a Bachelor's degree from Immaculate Heart College and a Master of Arts degree from San Francisco State University. She served as a professor of English in Pennsylvania. Her sister was actress Rita Quigley.
