FRANK ECKEL, 73, of Morganville, MARLBORO, passed away Sunday, March 18, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He had worked in the family business Struther and Eckel Excavating before running the Sportsman Bar and Grill in Englishtown, and later establishing Eckels Farm in Morganville. Frank was born on a farm and remained a lifelong farmer. He was born in Cliffwood, and remained a lifelong resident of Morganville. He was a founding member of the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company in Robertsville and exempt member of the Morganville Independent Fire Company. He loved hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Dora Eckel; and two sisters, Agnes Daye and Dorothy Plosky. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judy Eckel; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Danny and Janine Eckel of Morganville, Robin and Dawn Eckel of Morganville, and Wayne Eckel of Morganville; a daughter, Judy Ann Eckel of Morganville; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Nancy Eckel of Morganville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley Eckman or Morganville, and Amelia and Sonny Messina of Mays Landing; four grandchildren, Carli, Colin, Dylan and Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, 501 Route 79, Morganville. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
