FURLONG, MARGARET OBERST, 89, died on February 24, 2014 at the Nazareth Home.

She was born in Owensboro, KY to the late Albert and Marie Wittgen Oberst. Margaret received a nursing degree at Nazareth School of Nursing in 1948 and was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps during World War II. She married John in 1950. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Margaret was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows parish where she was a faithful member of the altar society. Margaret was a volunteer for Actors Theatre, Meals On Wheels and Audubon Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and five siblings, Paul, Alma, Charles, Mary Emma and James.

She is survived by her five children and two grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel at the Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway.

The family thanks all of the staff at Nazareth Home for their kindness and compassion to Margaret during her stay.
