Tom Welp, 80, loving husband of Barbara Welp, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, November 26, 2017. There will be a special service for the family at Sunset Memorial Garden in Stillwater, OK at a later date.

Tom was born on June 21, 1937, in Campbell Hill, IL, to Rev. Harry C. and Alma Welp. He and Barbara Sternberg were married on June 6, 1959, by his father, Rev. H.C. Welp, in Campbell Hill, IL. Tom and Barbara had 58 wonderful years together.

Upon finishing high school, Tom entered the U.S. Navy and served on the submarine, the U.S.S. Baya. This was something that he had always wanted to do. After his service to his country, he worked in the printing business for 40 years. He worked in Sparta, IL, Effingham, IL, Nashville, TN and Stillwater, OK. He was dedicated to his work and also to the people who worked for him. After retiring, he mowed lawns, along with wife Barbara, who helped him for 8 years. They enjoyed mowing and working together. He still mowed 15 lawns this past summer. He enjoyed people and never met a stranger.
