Ruth Rohlfing of Perryville, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, September 26, 2021. Ruth was 89 years old.

Ruth was born in Campbell Hill, Illinois to Reverend Harry C. Welp and Alma (Rafert) Welp on July 4, 1932. She married Kenneth Rohlfing, husband of 69 years, on June 4, 1950, in Campbell Hill. They had six children and farmed in their early years. They later moved to Effingham, Illinois, then retired back on the farm. Ruth was always an avid flower and vegetable gardener and continued this after moving to Perryville in the summer of 2020. Her faith in God remained remarkably strong throughout her life. Ruth was a dear friend to many people both young and old.

Ruth is survived by two sisters: Vera (Bob) Huey, and Doris Russell; sister-in-law Barbara Welp; children: Dr. Michael (Linda) Rohlfing, David Rohlfing (June Kezely); daughters-in-law: Phyllis Rohlfing and Debra Rohlfing; Jeanne (Joe) Hess, Brad (Carolyn) Rohlfing, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, their sons Scott and Neil, sisters Phyllis Russell and Marion Welp, brothers Tom and Paul Welp and brothers-in-law John Russell and Bob Russell.

A visitation for family and a few friends will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Southern Illinois and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
