Stella S. Córdova, age 85, a resident of La Joya, NM, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, January 20, 2018.
Stella was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in La Joya.
Stella, in addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was a school bus driver and worked at Honeywell and Singer.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Córdova, her parents, José and Soledad Sánchez, brothers, Manuel, Floyd, Eloy, Ernest and Jake, sisters, Felicita, Vivianna and Luz and children, Benjamin, Earl and Esther Bonnie.
Stella is survived by her son, Ernest Córdova and his wife, Sarah, daughter, Priscilla May and her husband, Roger, daughter in-law, Margaret Córdova, grandchildren, David, Laura, Rebecca, Andrew, Dennis, Sara, Melissa, Gianna and Michael and great-grandchildren, Serafin III, Noah, Shanelle, Sharlet, Sofia, Kieran and Lillian. Stella is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Rosary will be will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A final viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in La Joya with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at La Joya Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dennis, David, Andrew and Michael and nephews, James and Edwin. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Joe Marie, Norbert and Mike.
