Son, John Batteus Luco, 1900 census and Confederate Pension Application indicates they emigrated in 1847.

Married Annie Sophia Voglesang in Germany she died before they emigrated to Texas.

Per 1850 census Austin Co., TX Anna Marie Bottleman Lukhoff Gehrals married to Cornelius Gehrals had another son with Johann Lukhoff named Jacob Lukhoff born 1849 Texas. Jacob Lukhoff not on 1860 census.

Index to Naturalization Records out of Austin Co., TX indicates Johan Lukhoff filed Declaration of Intent for Citizenship 21 Jul 1849 but record cannot be located.
