Rev. Lesley Allen, 76, of Chillicothe died 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born June 23, 1941 in Jackson County to the late Homer and Florence Poe Gilliland. On November 11, 1962 he married the former Carol Dewey who survives.

Also surviving are three children; two grandchildren.

After giving his heart and life to the Lord in 1965 his music ministry started and continued for 53 years. He went wherever he was needed always taking his 2 guitars with him. Later he felt called to preach. He loved helping people any way he could and never met a stranger. He had friends everywhere. His radio ministry was always so important to him.

The family would like to thank all the medical providers, nurses, and staff at Adena Hospital on 3B and also Hospice team there that helped him with everything. A special thanks to Dr. Courtney Little and the team from Adena Internal Medicine and to Dr. Jeyanthi Ramanarayanan and the team at Adena Cancer Center for all the wonderful care and concern.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
