Laura Elouise Jones Vincent Lewis was born March 22, 1935 in Gary, Texas to Casey Ray and Elsie Bea Thompson Jones. She was raised in Gary where she was head cheerleader. Elouise continued her education at Panola College and received her bachelor’s degree in education and master’s degree in English through Stephen F. Austin State University.
Her career as a professional educator would span 42 years through both the Houston I.S.D. and Carthage I.S.D. teaching second grade. She was a longtime member of the Eastside Baptist Church, enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, and cooking for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Thomas Dean Vincent and Robert Lewis; and brother Billy Joe Jones.
