SPRAKERS — Thomas A. Oeser, 36, of Darrow Road, died Sept. 8 at home after a long illness. Born Dec. 10, 1956, in Amsterdam, he was the son of Albert A. and Gladys Crosier Oeser Jr. He was a 1975 graduate of Canajoharie High School and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Oeser was a machinist for Detail Machine Co. in Palatine Bridge at the time of his death. Prior to that, he worked in the same capacity at the former Lifesavers Co. plant in Canajoharie for 13 years. He served as vice president of the Canajoharie-Ames-Palatine Bridge PreTeen League and was a coach for the Red Sox Minor Baseball League in Canajoharie. A member of the Tri-town Bowling Association and a member of the Bakers & Confectionary Union. Mr. Oeser attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Plain. In addition to his parents of Sprakers, Survivors include three sons, Aaron Oeser and Michael Oeser, both of Canajoharie, and Alex M. Oeser of Palatine Bridge; a daughter, Alison Oeser of Canajoharie; six brothers, Albert H. Oeser, David Oeser, Clay Oeser, Gary Oeser, and Donald Oeser, all of Sprakers, and Randy Oeser of Palatine Bridge; four sisters, Carol Meka of Canajoharie, Linda Logan and Vicki Casler, both of Fort Plain, and Lori Rouse of Palatine Bridge; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Fort Plain, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Calling hours were 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund for Aaron, Alison, Michael and Alex Oeser, in care of Central National Bank, 24 Church St., Canajoharie, 13317; or to the Canajoharie-Ames-Palatine Bridge PreTeen League in care of Brian Hall, 35 Maple Ave., Canajoharie. 13317
