Kathryn was born on September 8, 1911 in Hayward, Wisconsin, to Wesley Turnbull and Matilda (Wick) Turnbull.
She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. Kathryn worked hard, loved life and in later years enjoyed traveling around the United States. At one time she owned a resort in the Hayward area. She also had employment at Laksa's Greehouse and the Coast to Coast Hardware store, both also former businesses of the Hayward area.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Haugan of Wausau; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and 1 daughter-in-law.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Helke Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Froseth officiating. Visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
A very special thank you to all the nurses, staff and volunteers at the Hospice House of Wausau. With the love and comforting care of the "walking angels" at the Hospice House, Kathryn and her family were able to take this final journey in life with grace, love and dignity. A heartfelt thanks also goes to Dr. Vicky Baker for her years of loving care and guidance.
