Robert Sporer, 68, of Matawan, passed away at his home on Friday, April 27, 2018.
He was born on November 15, 1949 to John and Jenny Sporer in Elizabeth, NJ. After High School Robert enlisted and served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Robert then worked as a Forklift Operator for National Starch and Chemical Company in Plainfield, NJ before retirement.
On February 22, 1985 Robert married the former Kathleen Ashe. Robert and Kathleen have lived in Matawan, NJ for the past 31 years. Robert and his family are communicants of St. Clement Church in Matawan, NJ. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 12 in Oakhurst, NJ.
Robert is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Kathleen Ashe Sporer; two sons and a daughter in law, Robert John and Casey and Michael Thomas Sporer; Two Brothers, James and, Frank Sporer; two sisters, Rose Demarest, and Eleanor Solyts; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, John and Richard Sporer, 3 Sisters, Joyce, Josephine Bennett, and Ann Makeley.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Hwy. 79, Morganville, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 3, 2018, 10:00 am at the St. Clement Church, Matawan, NJ. Burial will follow in the Brigadier General W. C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ
