Mary Dohnalik, 95, former Phillips resident, died on Sunday, December 19, 2004, in the Western Village Nursing Home in Green Bay. She was born on November 21, 1909 in Brookside, Alabama, the daughter of Andro and Anna (Robertine) Varholik. She was married to Anton Dohnalik on June 12, 1929, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Phillips. They resided in Phillips until she moved to Howard, in 1984. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and later of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Howard. She was a homemaker and loved birds, gardening, baking, and needlework. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Joe (Myrtle), of Chicago, Ill., Tony (Sharon), of Howard, Marty (Bernice), of Boyd, Mary Dohnalik, Phillips, Ann (Steve) Wirtas, of Downers Grove, Ill.; one son-in-law, Robert Zierer, of Campbellsport; by 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton, on July 28, 1983; a daughter, Vera Zierer; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. with Deacon James Celba officiating. Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Phillips. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating.

The Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips is in charge of local arrangements.
