John Spahn, 65, retired Santa Fe employee, died this morning in the Santa Fe Hospital.
He had been a resident of Topeka for fifty-three years. Employed as a blacksmith in the Santa Fe shops, he was retired on pension last November.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wren of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Mary Blossom of Topeka, and Miss Catherine Spahn of Wichita; one son, John Spahn Jr. of Kinsley, Kan., and five grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Mary Blossom, 916 North Madison Street, from 11 o'clock Saturday morning until the time of the funeral.
