ELOY — Carolina Calvo Ramirez, 79, of Chandler died on May 21, 2014, in Chandler.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 by the Rev. Rudy Rosales. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ramirez was born on Jan. 4, 1935, in Paul Spur, Ariz., and was a daughter of Nemecio and Emilia Calvo. She graduated from the University of Arizona and became a Wildcats fan for life. She was a teacher in Eloy for 35 years and loved spending time with her family, reading, crocheting and going to casinos.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Ramirez of Chandler and Manuel Ramirez of Tucson; two brothers, Joe Calvo of Flagstaff and Luis Calvo of Eloy; four sisters, Eloisa Acuna of Eloy, Millie Kakar, Mary Quintanar and Sally Martinez, all of Casa Grande; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel; a brother, Loreto Calvo; and two sisters, Elvira Rosales and Socorro Gobea.
