God received a special delivery on March 27, 2009 as He welcomed home our loving "Manny".

Born in Eloy on Nov. 15, 1931, he attended Eloy schools and graduated from Santa Cruz Valley High School in 1951. He worked as a projectionist at the Dust Bowl theater while in High School and joined the Army after graduation. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1986.

His hobby was geneology and he was proud to be a fifth generation Arizonan beginning in the Arizona territory. He was especially proud of his copy of the petition for statehood signed by his great-great-grandfather, Teodoro Ramirez.

Surviving him is his loving wife of 52 years, Carolina; two sons Manuel (Martha), of Tucson, and Danny (Wendy), of Chandler; and a sister Dolores Gobea, of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his father Manuel, mother Carmen, and sisters Cecilia Castro and Lupe Cocio. He was completely devoted to his family and loved being with his grandchildren. He was 77.

Visitation was at St. Helen's Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the rosary at 7 p.m. recited by Deacon Frank Castillo. Funeral mass will be on Wed., April 1st at
9 a.m. at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, AZ with Father Marco Velasquez presiding. He will be buried in Eloy Memorial Park.
