Fairview, IL - Verle Keith Mahr, 66, of Moreno Valley, Calif., formerly of Fairview, died Aug. 28, 1992, at Moreno Valley Medical Center.

Born July 13, 1926, in Fairview to Thomas and Katie Putman Mahr, he married Wilma Locke on March 5, 1947. She died in January 1981. He later married Julie Wilson. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael of Riverside, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Greg (Pat) Morrison of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Eva Keefauver of Fairview and Hazel Schrodt of Canton; one brother, Leonard of Farmington; and three grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

He farmed in Canton and Smithville until 1958. He was a self-employed general contractor in Riverside and a licensed real estate agent. He was a building inspector in Moreno Valley for four years, retiring in 1990.

Services were held Sept. 1 at Good Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Moreno Valley. Burial was in Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside.

Preston & Simons Mortuary in Riverside was in charge of arrangements.
