Born to Thomas J. and Katie Mae (Putman) Mahr, Hazel married Donovan P. Schrodt on Nov. 17, 1933 in Peoria. He died Nov. 8, 1983.
Surviving are one son, Lawrence L. (Suzanne) Schrodt; three daughters, Virginia (Dean) Trenter, Dorothy (Ed) Tallon and Donna (Rodney) Miller; one sister, Eva Keefauver; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Gerald Schrodt, one daughter, Joyce Gulley, one great-grandson and three brothers, Leonard, Verle and Donald Mahr.
She was a Canton High School graduate. She first was a cook at Canton Drug Store and Canton Senior High School. She then was the Cafeteria Manager at Ingersoll School.
She was a member of the Peter Pan Club and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
