She loved gardening, and also had numerous flower beds. She also was known for her beautiful African violets. She had many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, quilting, cake decorating, and doing crossword puzzles, the Wisconsin one in her newspaper being her favorite. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to a ladies group there that printed Braille Bibles.
In the 1950's, they vacationed on Lake Metonga and later built a cottage, spending as much time as they could there fishing and vacationing with their children.
Her husband, Walter, preceded her in death in 1986 after a brief illness, and in 2005 she sold her home in Sheboygan and moved to her cottage/remodeled home on Lake Metonga. While living on the lake, she loved feeding the ducks. When she got the corn to feed them, they all flocked to her and surely had a difficult time flying South in the fall, due to their extra weight. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crandon, and then joined Arbutus Lutheran Church in Pearson, WI.
In 2010 she moved to Milestone Senior Living in Rhinelander, then to the Crandon Nursing Home, and then to Eastview Health and Rehab Center, where she resided until her death.
Her friend of many years, Ruth Stroshane, and she attended the same Lutheran Grade School and Plymouth high school and traveled together, played cards. They shared a close friendship until Ruth's death.
Severa is survived by her three children, also sons-in-law Bob Tyler and Ken Mihalko, eleven grandchildren, Bob Tyler Jr., Michele (Barry) Hoffman, Dee Czarniecki, Michael (Gail) Czarniecki, and Alan (Laura) Czarniecki, Barry (Ann) Mihalko, Steven (Melissa) Mihalko, Todd (Leah) Mihalko, Shelley (Bruce) Ponton, Kristin (Michael) Tienor, and Kenneth II (Missy) Mihalko, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Irene Blanke, and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she had two brothers, Earl and Jerome, and sister-in-law Henrietta Blanke, who preceded her in death.
Mom will be remembered most for her positive attitude in life; if it was raining or snowing, and we complained, she said the Earth needed moisture for growing things; if it was cold, she said the cold killed germs; if it was hot, she said, "oh well, it will get cooler soon. Mother Nature is in charge." And we will always remember her humor. Mom, we will forever miss you and love you; go be with Dad and give him a hug from us.
A very special thank you to Milestone, Crandon Nursing Home, but especially Eastview Health and Rehab for the excellent care and compassion given to our mom. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.weberhillfuneralhome.com
