He was born June 4, 1921 in Plymouth, a son of the late Arthur and Edna Tohl Blanke. He attended St. John Lutheran School in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1938.
On Oct 23, 1943 Earl was married to Irene Zuengler by the Rev. Gerhard Huebner at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. The couple has made their home in Adell since their marriage.
He had been employed as a machinist at the Bolens Corp. in Port Washington retiring in 1983 and with his wife owned and operated The Blanke Store in Adell until 1984.
Earl is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and had served as elder and president of the Cemetery Committee for many years, and was also treasurer of the Church. Earl was also an active member of the Adell Village Board, member of the Adell Sportsman's Club, the Adell Lions Club, and also served on the Ardell Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Earl also served as a member and treasurer on the Governing Board of the Adell Senior Center.
Earl loved working in his gardens and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife Irene, four sons, David and Cristina Blanke of Oregon, Steven and Linda Blanke of Clinton, Md., Gregory and Donna Blanke of Sheboygan and Paul and Laurie Blanke of Midland, Mich.; one daughter, Lori Sue and Russell Cline of Adell: 10 dearly loved grandchildren; one sister, Severa Czarniecki of Sheboygan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. The Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
