DIED AT LAS PALMAS 15 OCTOBER 1906. /
His death left a great void in the colony. /
Respected and honoured by all denominations /
and ranks of society, his long and eminently /
successful career will for many generations /
serve as a model for all who aspire to serve /
their day and country. /
