Pauline Marie Frank was born on November 14, 1921 to Pauline and Peter Ekler in Kansas City, Kansas.

She had two brothers, Peter and Robert, now deceased and 4 sisters, Betty Ann (deceased), Rosemarie Nelson (deceased), Sister del Rey and Sister Sharon both of Denver.

Pauline moved as a young girl with her family to Denver when her mother was diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Pauline married Joseph Anthony Frank on June 24, 1941 in Denver. Pauline and Tony were married 44 years until his death on September 1, 1985.

They had six children: Patricia Doyle (deceased), Gloria Haberkorn of North Carolina, Kathleen Leisenring of Denver, Barbara Cromwell of Texas, Tony Frank and Michael Frank both of Denver. She has 20 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren

After Tony's death Pauline traveled to many places: England, Ireland, Germany, France, Denmark, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Egypt, Jordan, Israel and many many destinations across the US. One of her most "exciting" adventures was living through Hurricane Iniki in Hawaii on September 11, 1992. It was the most powerful storm to ever hit Hawaii and they took refuge in a US Armory. Her daughter reported that she wore out her rosary beads. Later Don Ho serenaded her singing "Tiny Bubbles." In Russia she traveled with her granddaughter who was on a National Gymnastics Team. While in the Middle East she was disturbed by the military presence everywhere and that a store they visited was blown up the day after they had been there. In Jordan she rode a camel to the Lost City of Petra and was proposed to by an Egyptian on the Nile River.

Pauline was an independent person with very diverse interests. She never drove a car so she walked to the grocery store, walked to church or walked to catch a bus to take her places where she couldn't walk. She was a great cook, impeccable housekeeper, gardener, loved to sew, quilt and did beautiful embroidery work. She made quilts that were embroidered for many of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She embroidered beautiful tea towels, many she donated to the church for their Fall Bazaar. She also loved to fish. On a moments notice she would pack a lunch, grab a pole and head to the mountains with any one offering a chance to go fishing. All of the Grandchildren and many of the Great Grandchildren have wonderful memories of Christmas Eves at Grandma Frank's. They could fill a book with their stories. She loved music. Her favorites were The Four Tenors, Pavarotti, and the Celtic Women.

As a devout Catholic she dedicated much of her life to the church. In her later years, when all her children were grown and her husband deceased, she took great joy in devoting her daily life to the Altar and Rosary Society at Holy Family Church in Denver. Again, because she did not drive, she walked to most of the activities and to Mass several times a week but she also had great friends that she loved and who "carried" her to many places as well.

After dementia stole her life she has, for the past three years, lived in a memory care home. We ask that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Family Church, 4377 Utica St. Denver, Colorado 80212.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5-7:00pm, Rosary will begin at 7:00pm both at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Chapel of Peace. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Cemetery & Arboretum, Wheat Ridge, CO.
