Rose Marie was born on the 18th of August 1920, she married H. Lee Nelson on the 5th of June 1937 and began the begetting. She enjoyed her 5 children, who then begat a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She passed away peacefully at home on the 4th of September 2011.

Born of simple means her lifestyle was open and generous. Her home was always open to those who stopped by or in quiet need. Some of her fondest memories include Rose-a-Lee the novelty nursery in San Diego; the vitamin store in Lakeside, their health store/counter in La Mesa; babysitting her great grandchildren, rides in Model A Fords and her favorite flower was a fuchsia.

She dedicated her time and talents to humanitarian projects as far back as the kids can remember; quilts, afghans and knitted sweaters were handmade and sent to organizations worldwide. She loved road trips and long drives in the country and always commented on the beauty of nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and her son, Glenn.

She is survived by her sons, Don of Colorado and Loren of California; her daughters Linda of Utah and Wanda of South Carolina and all of their respective families.

Her wishes were to have no memorial services. Should you desire, make a charitable donation to a humanitarian organization of your choice.
