Joseph Melchoir, 63, of 225 Jefferson street, an employee of the Santa Fe railroad for thirty-seven years, died Tuesday afternoon in the Santa Fe Hospital.
He is survived by his widow [Margaret Schlitter written in]; a son, Joseph Melchoir Jr.; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Schmidt, Mrs. Charles Blossom and Mrs. Frank Krische Jr., of Topeka; Mrs. Adam Domme of Chicago, and Mrs. Everett Peavler of Scranton; a brother, Peter Melchoir, Topeka; and 18 grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the residence until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at St. Joseph Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
