The Coroner conducted an inquest this morning concerning the death of Michael Demuth, a land agent, whose body was found hanging in a shed at the back of his residence at Lyall Bay yesterday morning. Deceased was 43 years of age and was a married man with four children. Evidence was given to the effect that Demuth had been an invalid during the past two years and had been a patient at the Wellington Hospital for six months. The Coroner found that cause of death was suicide by hanging while deceased was in a state of severe mental depression following a long illness.
His wife Mabel died in 1960 aged 74. Burial not yet found
