Mrs Petershagan - Called to That Eternal Home From Which Bourn no Traveler Returns

January 6, 1846 in Oldenburg, German, there was born to Mr and Mrs John Nustedt, a daughter whom they named Anna Katherine. The young lady grew to young womanhood at this palce; and attended the schools of the city.

April 2, 1869, she was united in marriage to Bernard Petershagen in the old-home town and a week later, the young couple left for America, settling on a farm in the vicinity of Homestead at which place they continued to make their home until they retired from the active duties of farm life and moved to Williamsburg in 1907. At which place she continued to make her home with the husband until the time of her death on Monday, December 26th. The cause of her death being pneumonia, from which she suffered for six days.

To this union were born eight children, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving with the husband are Mrs Agnes Engelken of Independence, Kansas, Mrs Johanna Meyer, Joplin, Mo; Mrs Anna Von Hoene, Williamsburg; Henry P, Everett, Washington; Lena at home and George of this city. There also survives fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs Petershagen was a good Christian woman, always looking after the welfare of her children and her home. She was one of the real pioneers of this vicinity, whose vanishing line is growing shorter every day.

The funeral services will be held ? afternoon at 1 o'clock in St Pauls Church and burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery.
