Mills, 86 Shawnee died March 24, 2002 in a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1915 in Russell KS to Johannes P. and Katherine E. (Ehrlich) Herdt. She moved to Shawnee in 1944 from Little Rock AR to manage Kinney's Shoes. She later became manager of Arden's Dress Shop. She marrried David Mills on Aug. 28, 1948 in Shawnee. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2001. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a cub scout den mother. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter Mary Lou Ransom, 2 brothers Leo and Siegmond, and a sister Helen Berry. Surviving are 1 son, 1 daughter, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and one brother. Services were held at Roesch Walker Funeral Chapel, burial followed at Resthaven Cemetery.
