Leo Emanuel Herdt, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 25, at the AlaFern Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 8, 1911, at Hoisington to Peter and Katherina Elizabeth (Ehrlich) Herdt. He was a farmer during his working years, never married, and had been a resident of nursing homes for several years.
Survivors are his brother, Paul of Russell; four sisters, Mrs. Ben (Rosa) Bender of Wichita; Mrs. David (Clara) Mills; and Irene Zinn, both of Shawnee, OK; and Helen Berry of Salem, IL.
A graveside service was held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, Rev. James Strasen officiating. Pohlman's
