Benny Lee Schumann passed away at the age of 75 in New Braunfels, Texas on November 16, 2018. He was born on September 30, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Alfred and Sophie (Tschoepe) Schumann. He is survived by wife of 54 years Carol Schumann; son, Donnie Schumann and wife, Jennifer; and son, Barry Schumann. He was the proud grandfather of Zachary Schumann and girlfriend, Diana Oloteo. He is also survived by brother, Joe Schumann; sister, Carolyn Addington and husband, Roger Addington; sister-in-law, Florence Schumann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by son, Darrin Schumann; his parents; brother, Alfred Schumann and wife, Mae Nell; brother, David Schumann; sister, Margaret Fey and husband, Kyran Fey; and sister-in-law, Elaine Schumann. He enjoyed retirement after working for many years, hunting and fishing with his grandson, gardening, woodworking, quilting, playing cards and league bowling with friends, traveling the world with his wife, and spending time with his beloved family. He was kind, caring, thoughtful, joyful, and is known for his soft smile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Public Visitation will be take place Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by a reception at the church. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
