QUEENSBURY * Stanley H. Selleck, 76, of Queensbury passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, peacefully at his home.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Glens Falls the son of the late, Raymond and Althea (Kingsley) Selleck.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glens Falls.

Stanley graduated from Glens Falls High School a member of the Class of 1948.

He served in the United States Naval Reserve with the Seabees.

He was an area carpenter, later a painting contractor with R. J. Selleck and Son with his father.ÊAfter the passing of his father he continued to run the business as Stan Selleck Painting retiring in 1990. He also was the owner operator of Selleck's Paint Store in Glens Falls for eight years.

Stanley was a member of American Dairy Goat Association, Merry Mohican Dance Club, Stan's Fans Club, and was a professional square dance caller.

He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, dancing, rabbit hunting, growing flowers, was an excellent swimmer, playing and watching baseball and spending time with his family.

He married Jeanette Deeb in September of 1951, and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary before her passing on Oct. 30, 1991.

Stanley is survived by his children, Jenny Lortz and her husband, David, of Fortsville; Jacqueline Melito of Queensbury; and Stanley Selleck and his wife, Michelle, also of Queensbury; his four grandchildren: Jolena Wood, Jade Melito, Jeffrey Selleck and Justin Selleck; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Blake and Cheyenne Wood; his sisters, Barbara Riley and her husband, Frederick, of Queensbury and Prudence VanDyke and her husband, Peter, of Oklahoma; along with several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Eboney, also survive him.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Arthur Hagy officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007, at the funeral home.
