Henry L. Koepfer, age 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Henry (Hank) was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 25, 1939 to LeRoy and Naomi Koepfer. He was a graduate of former Libby High School and The University of Toledo.
A dedicated member of the Toledo Police Department from 1963 – 1994; he held positions within Traffic, Bomb Squad, and the Detective Bureau retiring with rank of Detective Sergeant. In addition, Hank was a four year veteran of the United States Navy, EM 2nd Class.
Hank was an avid huntsman and fisherman throughout the United States in addition to being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Naomi Koepfer and wife, Sylvia Skillas Koepfer. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Austin and Nicole (Matt) McIntire; grandchildren Christopher and Joshua Austin and Madyson Niles; and sister, Sharon (Otto) Steele; nephew, Otto James (Kim) Steele.
