Susanne Unruh, 68, died Feb. 13, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospice, Tucson, Ariz.

She was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Great Bend, the daughter of John and Nora Ellen Graham Munds. She graduated from Burrton High School, Burrton, in 1957. She had lived in Wichita until moving to Seattle, Wash., in 1968. She retired as assistant manager for Sears, Seattle, after 28 years. After her retirement she moved to Sahaurita, where she has lived for 10 years.

She was of the Protestant faith.

On June 28, 1957, she married Ernest Eugene Unruh in Okmulgee, Okla. He survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda K. Chevalier, Bellingham, Wash., and Sandy L. Hume and husband Randy, Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, John Munds and wife Janey, Hutchinson, and Donald M. Munds and wife Carol, Cookson, Okla., a sister, Sally Ediger and husband Vern, Halstead; a brother-in-law, Allen Unruh, Pittsburg, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Verda Hoskinson and husband Dick, Wichita, Elvera Pitsch and husband Jerry, Oak Harbor, Wash., and Violet Sipes and husband Vince, Wichita; and four grandchildren, Travis Wood and wife Cindy, Jacksonville, Fla., Tyler Wood, Kirkland, Wash., Tara Wood, Albuquerque, N.M., and John Austin McIntosh, Bellingham, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Burrton City Cemetery, with Pastor James Gundy presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ruth Dole Memorial Library of Burrton or to Carondolet Hospice, Tucson, Ariz., both in care of the funeral home.
