Johann Bernard Feldmann was born on September 6, 1798 in Borringhausen, Vechta, Niedersachsen, Germany, the son of Herm Feldmann and Catherine Maria Westendorf. His wife, Maria Agnes Baune, was born on June 24, 1799 in Borringhausen, the daughter of Johann Henrich Baune and Catherine Margaretha Stallo of Borringhausen. The family would have attended church at Saint Viktor Kirche in Damme, Germany, which would be the nearest parish church. Johann Bernard Feldmann and Maria Agnes Baune were married on February 8, 1820 at Saint Viktor Kirche in Damme. Their relatives are most likely buried at Friedhof Saint Viktor, Damme, Vechtaer Landkreis, Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), Germany.

Johann Bernard and Maria Agnes Feldmann emigrated to America in June of 1843. The Felmannn family departed from the Port of Bremerhaven, Germany on April 16, 1843 on the sailing ship Marianne. They arrived at the Port of Baltimore on June 8, 1843. The family members listed are Bernhard Feldmann age 46, Agnes Feldmann age 45, Agnes Feldmann age 20, Marianne Feldmann age 16, Anna Feldmann age 12 and Henry Feldmann age 8. The Feldmanns are passengers #79 through #84.

Two of Maria Agnes (Baune) Feldmann's sisters and their husbands were also aboard the ship Marianne. Her sister, Elizabeth is listed among Passengers #69 through #73: Hermann Borgerding age 29, Elizabeth (Baune) Borgerding age 29, & 3 children, John Henry age 6, Elizabeth age 4, & Agnes age 2 (Agnes is on the next page with Franz and Maria (Baune) Borgerding, the other sister. Franz and Anna Maria (Baune) Borgerding are listed as Passenger #74 Franz Borgerding age 30 Tailor, and Passenger #75 Maria Borgerding age 26. They did not have any children at this time.

Maria Agnes (Baune) Feldman, Maria Elisabeth (Baune) Borgerding and Anna Maria (Baune) Borgerding were the daughters of Johann Henrich Baune and Catherine Margaretha Stallo. Later on, in April of 1883, some of the children of Johann Heinrich Baune and Maria Catharina Wenstrup emigrated to America. Johann Heinrich Baune is the brother of the three Baune sisters.
