John Wolf, 88, of Walton, died Monday, March 19, at Delaware Valley Hospital in Callicoon, after an illness of several years duration. Born at Callicoon Center, September 11, 1867, he was the son of Henry and Catherine Ranft Wolf. He married Minnie Strong Franklin on March 21, 1894. For the past six years, Mr. Wolf made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gladstone of Walton, and prior to that he resided with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gosper, also of Walton. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church, and the Walton Grange 1454. Surviving are his two daughters, Mrs. Percy Jackson of Cooperstown and Mrs. Roy Gosper of Greene, a sister Mrs. George Hess of Corning, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Charles Zieres of Buck Brook and Oscar Hess of Newark, N. Y. a niece and nephew also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from Lyon Brothers Chapel, Rev. Dr. J. N. Findlay Brown officiating. Burial was in Walton Cemetery.
