Elke Hurt, age 86, of El Paso, TX was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 21st at her home. She was born in Germany on February 23rd, 1932 to Franz and Hilde Bauer and later moved to the United States. She served many years as a school cafeteria manager in the El Paso area, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. Upon her retirement, she often spent her time with family and friends, watching the hummingbirds, and praising the Lord.
She is survived by her son David Jr (Kimberly Kelly-Najera) of Chaparral NM, Hilde Frost of Stewartville, MN; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Christa Wallace.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 1 at 12:00 PM at the USASMA Chapel 11275 Biggs St. in El Paso with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
