DOROTHY FERGUSON SLATER, 91, of Memphis, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at her home. She attended Southwestern College where she was president of the A O Pi Sorority. She was a member of the Lenna P. Hart Circle of The Kings Daughters. She was also an active member of Second Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Slater was preceded in death by her husband, John Wiley Slater. She is survived by her two sons, John Wiley Slater, Jr. of Memphis and James E. Slater of Denver, CO; a daughter-in-law, Louise Archer Slater, and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Bennet Slater. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Second Presbyterian Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to the Church Health Center or Bridges Foundation.
