Doris E. Goedken, 87, of Dyersville, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville.

Visitation will be held from 2 – 7 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Monday, March 11 from 9 – 10 am at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, March 11, 2019, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.

Doris was born July 27, 1931, in New Vienna the daughter of Edmund and Anastasia (Hermsen) Vaske. She married Floyd B. Goedken on September 18, 1956, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Together they raised their family on their century farm north of Petersburg. Doris was a member of the SS Peter & Paul Choir and enjoyed playing the pipe organ for over 30 years. She also enjoyed playing cards, quilting and bowling in the Knights of Columbus Bowling League.

Survivors include 5 sons: Wayne (Dawn) of Ankeny, Loras (Tammy) of Swisher, Al (Carol) of Madison, WI, Patrick (Jacinda) of Mason City and Phil Goedken of Petersburg; 12 grandchildren: Ben, Sarah, Nick, Alex, Chelsy (Derek) Sparrow, Lindsay (Casey) Kidwell, Molly (special friend Ben Shrago), Jeremy (Mary) Goedken, Amanda (fiancé Bryce Baker), Danielle, Marco and Isabelle; great grandchildren: Mila and Calvin Kidwell; siblings: Virgene Bockenstedt (friend Roger Bries) of Dyersville and Charles (Donna) Vaske of New Vienna; in-laws: Mary Vaske of Dyersville, Pat Vaske of Garnavillo, Joan Pasker of Dyersville, Dale Goedken of Dyersville, Donald Burkle and Delaine (Paul) Knipper, both of Dyersville, Lisa Goedken of Conception Junction, MO, Delores (Terry) O’Brien of Cascade, Sr. Rita Goedken of Dubuque, Dennis (Ann) Goedken of Cottage Grove, WI, and Charles (Patrice) Goedken of Harrisburg, PA;

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd in 2013, a grandson, Joseph Goedken; siblings: Ralph Vaske, Marvin Vaske; in-laws: Martin Bockenstedt, Sr. Angela Goedken, Lois Burkle, Deacon Martin Goedken, David Goedken in infancy and Urban Pasker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
