Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday June 25, 2004 at Bruce~Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Harry Imlay of Riverside United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the McGuire Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Helene was born May 5, 1915 the daughter of James and Lois (Kendall) Babbitt in Fort Dodge, IA.
On February 15, 1935 Helene was united in marriage to Arthur Richard Bass in Fort Dodge.
Helene was a very craft oriented person who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She loved to travel, go fishing, and putting puzzles together. Helene looked forward to going on vacation. Her most valued time was spent with her family and friends.
Those thankful for having shared in Helene's life include her children, Ronald (Lillian) Bass of Fort Dodge, Richard Bass of Stratford, Helen Louise Crannie of Fort Dodge, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Bass of Troy, Mich., one sister, Lois Roberta Kuhn of Fort Dodge, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, one son, Duane Bass, two grandsons, Brian James and Ronald Richard Bass, 8 sisters, and 4 brothers.
